Water Damage Reconstruction & Rebuilds in the Tri-Valley

After the drying is done, the house still has to be put back. Steadfast is a licensed California contractor with its own construction crew, so the rebuild is handled in house, on one scope and one schedule, with a 2-year warranty on all workmanship.

What does reconstruction include after water damage?

Everything that was removed during mitigation, rebuilt to match the rest of the house. On a typical Tri-Valley water loss that means:

  • Drywall, texture, and paint
  • Insulation and vapor barrier
  • Subfloor repair and flooring: hardwood, engineered, laminate, tile, and carpet
  • Baseboards, casing, and trim
  • Kitchen and bathroom cabinets, countertops, and backsplash
  • Tile showers, shower pans, and vanities
  • Framing, sill plates, and structural repairs, including dry rot
  • Doors, windows, and exterior siding or stucco where the loss reached the envelope

Why does it matter that the same company does mitigation and rebuild?

Because the rebuild scope is written from the mitigation record. When one company dries the house and another rebuilds it, the second contractor is guessing at what was removed and why, and the two scopes rarely line up with what the adjuster approved. When Steadfast handles both, the rebuild estimate is written from our own mitigation crew's photos and readings, the insurance file stays consistent, and you have one number to call for the whole job.

Can Steadfast rebuild if another company did the dry-out?

Yes. If a different restoration company handled the mitigation, we can take the rebuild from their scope and moisture documentation. We will verify the structure is actually dry before we close anything up.

How the rebuild runs

  1. Scope and estimate

A line-item repair scope written from the mitigation record, in the format your adjuster expects. We review it with you before anything is ordered.

  2. Materials and matching

Flooring, cabinet, and tile selections that match your existing finishes wherever possible, or upgrades if you choose to pay the difference.

  3. Build

Framing and structural work first, then insulation, drywall, finishes, and final paint. Permits are pulled when the scope requires them.

  4. Walkthrough

A final walkthrough with you, punch list completed, and the file closed out with your insurance company.

Is the work warrantied?

Yes. Every Steadfast rebuild carries a 2-year warranty on all workmanship. If something we built fails because of how it was built, we come back and make it right.

Fire and mold rebuilds

Our construction crew rebuilds after fire and smoke damage and mold remediation. Fire rebuilds usually involve more framing and electrical coordination; mold rebuilds are mostly drywall, insulation, and finishes once clearance is complete.

Questions

Reconstruction questions, answered

Do I have to use the company that dried my house for the rebuild?

No. You choose your contractor. Steadfast can rebuild after our own mitigation or after another company's, working from their scope and moisture records.

Will you match my existing flooring and cabinets?

We match existing finishes wherever the material is still available. When it is discontinued, we bring options that are as close as possible, and the insurance scope usually accounts for matching in the affected area.

How long does reconstruction take?

A single room with drywall, trim, and paint is often one to two weeks. Kitchens and bathrooms with cabinets, tile, and countertops run longer because of lead times on materials. We give you a schedule with the estimate.

Do you pull permits?

When the scope requires it, yes. Structural, electrical, and plumbing work inside a rebuild is permitted and inspected as required by the city.

Is Steadfast a licensed contractor?

Yes. Steadfast Construction Services Inc. is a licensed California contractor, which is what allows us to do both the mitigation and the reconstruction under one company.

Do you warranty the rebuild?

Yes. All Steadfast workmanship carries a 2-year warranty. Materials carry their manufacturers' warranties on top of that.

Will the rebuild estimate match what my insurance approved?

We write the repair scope in the line-item format adjusters use, based on the mitigation record. If the adjuster's estimate misses something that was removed, we document it and submit a supplement.
